From Nature to Art: All You Need is a Walk in the Woods
In the hustle and bustle of daily life, many of us overlook the simple yet profound beauty of nature. Yet, a tree leaf, a small branch, or even a common stone can be an incredible source of creativity. In our Erasmus+ project, SIGN, we aim to show our students this truth in the most meaningful way possible: by doing and by feeling.
We started with a fantastic trip to the forest. Our students and teachers embarked on a journey into the heart of nature, not just to get some fresh air, but to collect natural materials that would fuel their creativity. We carefully gathered dried leaves, small sticks, stones of various textures, and much more.
After our trip, we used these raw materials to design artistic products. The students created small lamps for their rooms, bringing a piece of nature into their living spaces. They decorated the lamps with the sticks and stones they had collected, and then added lights, creating a wonderful combination of nature's boundless potential and the children's creativity.
This activity demonstrated how valuable products can be created from simple materials, strengthening both waste awareness and encouraging children's creativity. Drawing inspiration from nature to create artistic products helped our students develop a sense of environmental awareness, strengthen their instinct to protect nature, and learn to think creatively with simple, raw elements. We believe that to protect something, you must first feel it, use it with respect, and create with it.
